Here are some tips:

Appoint a green representative on staff to take leadership and provide training.

Begin by monitoring your organization's usage and track trends and averages over time.

Lower the thermostat.

Go for the low hanging fruit when a light burns out; replace it with a CFL (compact flourescent light).

Switch to recycled office paper and reduce the amount of paper you use by two-sided copying and printing only necessary documents.

Consider sending newsletters and memo's through an e-mail marketing service.

If you have to print large quantities, use a certified eco-friendly printer.

Stop using styrofoam cups and plates while encouraging the use of reusable cups and utensils.

Install covenant recycling stations for paper, plastic, and aluminum cans.

Attack phantom energy loss by installing power strips and turning them off when they are not in use. Many appliances use up 30% of their power when they are turned off.

When replacing equipment, seek out energy star rated alternatives.
